Dolores Wood - PGNA Greening Committee Chair
Dolores Wood has lived in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood since 1986. In addition to her volunteer work with her church, Dolores has volunteered in leadership positions for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for 16+ years, and worked nine years in Scout camps. She became a member of the Order of The Arrow in 1995, (a volunteer Boy Scouts of America service organization.) Dolores is a strong advocate for parks, the environment, and other causes. She has been an active member of the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood Association (PGNA) since 1997. As well as chairing the PGNA Greening Committee, she is a member of the PGNA Public Safety Committee and PGNA Membership and Outreach Committee. Dolores is also an active member of the East Portland Parks Coalition and the East Portland Action Plan. Because of her involvement with parks, particularly her long time activities at Raymond Park during the summer, she was asked to chair the PGNA Greening Committee in August 2008 – an excellent fit given her educational background in biology, ecology, and other sciences.
